Software Update Policy

This Software Update Policy ("Policy") describes how software updates, security patches, firmware packages (where applicable), feature releases, hotfixes, and maintenance updates are provided for CtrlOne.Online ("CtrlOne"), operated by UQuick Technologies India Limited ("Company", "we", "our", or "us"). This Policy forms part of the Terms of Service, Enterprise License Agreement (EULA), and applicable subscription agreement. Version 1.0. Effective Date: 14 July 2026.

This Policy applies to all commercially released versions including:

  • CtrlOne LAN Version (where applicable)

4. Types of Updates

CtrlOne may release various categories of updates, described below.

4.1 Security Updates

Security Updates include the following. Security updates receive the highest priority.

  • Vulnerability fixes
  • Privilege escalation fixes
  • Authentication improvements
  • Encryption improvements
  • Certificate updates
  • Remote exploit mitigation
  • Driver security improvements
  • Security policy improvements

4.2 Critical Hotfixes

Critical Hotfixes address the following. Hotfixes may be released without waiting for scheduled releases.

  • Service crashes
  • Endpoint failures
  • Policy failures
  • Agent startup failures
  • Console communication issues
  • Data corruption bugs
  • Emergency compatibility fixes

4.3 Feature Updates

Feature updates may include the following. Feature updates may change workflows and user interface elements.

  • New endpoint controls

  • Additional browser controls
  • UI improvements
  • Performance enhancements
  • Administrative improvements
  • API enhancements
  • Compliance features

4.4 Maintenance Updates

Maintenance updates generally include:

5. Automatic Updates

For cloud-managed deployments, the CtrlOne Agent may automatically download and install updates from Company-managed update servers.

  • Detection improvements
  • Performance improvements

6. Silent Updates

Enterprise administrators acknowledge that certain updates may install silently without user interaction, including:

7. Administrator Control

Where supported by the customer's subscription plan, administrators may:

  • Pause feature releases
  • View update history
  • Monitor deployment status

8. Update Channels

CtrlOne may provide multiple release channels:

Beta releases should not be used for mission-critical production systems unless expressly approved by the customer.

  • Stable — recommended for production environments
  • Early Access — receives selected features before general availability
  • Beta — contains pre-release functionality intended for testing only

9. Security Patch Schedule

Security vulnerabilities are prioritized based on severity:

Release timing depends on testing, compatibility, and operational risk.

  • Critical — targeted for immediate release after validation
  • High — released as soon as practical
  • Medium — included in scheduled maintenance releases
  • Low — addressed during normal development cycles

10. Compatibility

Updates are designed for supported Microsoft Windows operating systems. Customers are responsible for ensuring:

  • Supported Windows versions
  • Required Microsoft components
  • Supported hardware
  • Stable internet connectivity (for cloud updates)
  • Adequate disk space
  • Administrator privileges where required

11. Update Verification

Every official CtrlOne software update is protected through one or more verification mechanisms, including:

Customers should install updates only from official CtrlOne sources.

  • Digital code signing
  • Integrity validation
  • Cryptographic verification
  • Secure transport
  • Tamper protection

12. Unsupported Software

The Company does not provide updates for:

  • End-of-Life software
  • Unsupported Windows editions
  • Modified installations
  • Reverse-engineered builds
  • Pirated copies
  • Unauthorized forks
  • Third-party modifications

13. Internet Connectivity

Cloud editions require periodic connectivity to:

14. Rollback

Where technically supported, administrators may roll back certain updates if:

16. Customer Responsibilities

17. Emergency Security Releases

If a severe security vulnerability is identified, the Company may release emergency updates outside the normal release schedule.

These releases may be mandatory for cloud-managed environments to maintain platform security.

18. Third-Party Components

CtrlOne may incorporate third-party software components. Updates for such components may be delivered through CtrlOne when necessary to:

19. No Guarantee of Perpetual Compatibility

Microsoft Windows, hardware vendors, browser vendors, and third-party software providers may introduce changes beyond the Company's control.

While commercially reasonable efforts are made to maintain compatibility, the Company does not guarantee uninterrupted compatibility with all future operating system versions, hardware platforms, or third-party software.

20. Limitation of Liability

Software updates are provided on an "as available" basis. Except as required by applicable law, the Company shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, or punitive damages arising from:

22. Governing Law

This Policy shall be governed by the laws of the Republic of India, including applicable provisions of:
